WHAT TO EXPECT
Your wedding day goes by fast—faster than you think. My role is to capture it in a way that feels natural, emotional, and true to you.
You can expect a mix of:
Guided moments (like portraits and family photos)
Candid storytelling (real laughs, reactions, and in-between moments)
Calm direction when needed so you never feel awkward or unsure
I’ll help keep things on track while also allowing space for genuine moments to unfold.
THE FIRST LOOK
Are you considering a firstlook?
A first look is a private moment where you see each other before the ceremony.
Why couples love it:
- Calms nerves and eases emotions early in the day
- Creates an intimate, meaningful moment—just the two of you
- Allows more photos to be taken before the ceremony (which means more time with guests later)
If you skip the first look:
That’s completely fine too. Just know we’ll plan extra time after the ceremony for portraits and family photos.
There’s no “right” choice—just what fits your vision best.
THE DETAILS
(WHAT TO HAVE READY)
Having your details together saves time and makes your gallery feel complete.
For the bride:
- Dress (steamed and ready)
- Shoes
- Jewelry
- Perfume
- Invitation suite (2 copies if possible)
- Rings (all rings in one place)
- Veil / hair pieces
- Any meaningful items (letters, heirlooms, etc.)
- Flowers (see if your florist can have them dropped off early)
For the groom:
- Shoes
- Watch
- Cufflinks
- Tie/bow tie
- Boutonnière
Pro tip:
Place everything in one box or bag so I can start photographing immediately when I arrive.
The Family
who to include in your family photos
Family photos can feel chaotic without a plan—so we’ll keep it organized and efficient.
Start with:
- Immediate family (parents, siblings, grandparents)
Then consider:
- Blended families
- Step-parents
- Close extended family (if important to you)
Helpful tips:
- Keep the list concise (10–20 groupings is ideal)
- Assign a helper who knows your family to gather people quickly
- Create this list ahead of time. I will ask you to create this list on your questionnaire.
This keeps things moving so you can get back to celebrating.
WEDDING TIPS
A few things that make a huge difference:
1. Build buffer time
Hair, makeup, and getting dressed almost always take longer than expected. Have hair and makeup finish with the bride and bridesmaids when the photographers arrive.
2. Keep your space clean
Getting ready in a tidy area makes your photos look significantly better. Try and keep the mess contained to one area.
3. Stay present
Not everything will go perfectly—and that’s okay. The best photos come from real moments, not perfection.
4. Trust your team
You’ve hired professionals for a reason. Let us guide you so you can enjoy your day.
5. Plan your timeline with me 1-3 months before the wedding
We want the day to run as smoothly as possible. Right when you have a basic timeline planned with your venue or coordinator please loop me in. I need a spesific amount of time to capture pre-ceremony photos. We will want to make a detailed timeline together.
6. Book your engagement session 1-2 months out.
My weekends fill up fast, let me know early when you want to photograph your engagement.
WEDDING QUESTIONAIRE
Before your wedding, I’ll send you a questionnaire to better understand your vision and priorities.
This helps me:
- Know what matters most to you
- Understand family dynamics
- Plan your timeline more effectively
- Capture moments that are meaningful—not just traditional
